Product Development Engineer taking products from concept level through to operating hardware. Working
in fast-paced, cross-functional environment to resolve customer issues, improve/support the manufacturing
process, and contribute to the R&D process. Other duties as required time to time.
Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years Product Development Experience.
- Must be process oriented.
- Strong Experimental or Instrumentation Background.
- Experience Designing High Pressure Parts.
Preferred
- Understanding of Complex Fluid Rheology and Multi-Phase Flow.
- MS in Mechanical Engineering.
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.
- PE License by Examination.

Basic Function (Purpose of Position)
The purpose of this position is to provide total support to OFITE customers, distributors, and prospects during pre-sale and post-sale
activities, and by providing first level technical support. Owns the customer experiences for these activities when the customer contacts OFITE via phone, email, or web.
Position Responsibilities and Specific Duties
Provides full customer service and order management.
- Takes ownership to understand the customer needs. Effectively offers product alternatives for customers based on clear application
requirements to best meet customer requirements and to support sales objectives.
- Maximize scope of supply. Recognizes that a customer of one product could also purchase other OFITE products. Demonstrates proactive
selling of OFITE products. Identifies opportunities for expanding the sale through additional options and complimentary products.
- Properly captures and maintains order documents in paperless filing system.
- Follows up on orders entered to help ensure efficient progress.
- Captures technical questions by opening cases in CRM and escalating as needed. Requests support from Product Expert, Outside Sales, or Product Marketing for advanced questions.
Supports account goals and strategies with OFITE Outside Sales Force
- Communicates regularly with outside sales force regarding sales activity with common customers.
- Generates leads for sales force through active listening and probing for customer requirements and opportunities.
- Maintains CRM & MAS databases (as needed). Generates, assigns, and completes tasks and activities within CRM to provide a complete view of OFITE’s customer relationships.
- Participates in customer visits with sales representatives to maintain/develop strong supplier/customer relationships.
- Provides regional input to assist sales representatives in developing strategies and objectives.
Supports OFITE growth programs and initiatives.
- Represents OFITE policies and practices properly within communications to customers
- Identifies and communicates product/service improvements based on customer feedback/experience
- Participates in continuous improvement programs.
Knowledge and Skills
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the company and our product line.
- Have knowledge of the industry and equipment.
- Ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner.
- Prepare timely quotes and follow up to achieve order.
- Bilingual required
- 5 years of related work experience or 4 year Bachelor Degree (and relevant experience).
