The metal mud balance that you have come to depend on for density measurements now has a sleek new design.
Machined, instead of cast, this new mud balance calibrates easier than ever before and now includes two new scales - lbs/cu. ft. and psi/1000 ft.
The OFITE mud balance is engineered so that the mud cup at one end of the beam is balanced by a fixed counterweight at the other end, with a sliding-weight rider that moves along a graduated scale. A level bubble is mounted on the beam to ensure accurate balancing.
Built from a heavy-duty aluminum alloy, this balance is rugged enough for rig usage, and is designed to reduce the need for re-calibration. Other features include a large sample cup for increased accuracy, a hard anodized aluminum beam for additional corrosion resistance, a stainless steel rider, and heat-treated knife edge.
A silk-screened, easily-read scale on top of the arm allows for clear, accurate reading.
Four scales are included:
6.5 - 23.0 lbs/gal
0.79 - 2.72 specific gravity
49 - 172 lbs/ft3
340 - 1190 psi/1000 ft
Each balance may be readily transported in a lightweight carrying case fitted for its usage and storage.
