Potential System
|
Manually controlling polymer dosage is common practice in most water and wastewater treatment plants. Typically, overdosage is common practice to prevent process upsets. Unfortunately, overdosage significantly hikes up chemical costs, while doing nothing to increase the quality of the treatment. In addition, cake dryness obtained by sludge dewatering can actually decrease with an overabundance of polymer, increasing your disposal costs.
The Streaming Potential System continuously measures the electrical charges in a treated water sample, which indicates polymer dosage in the treatment process. The application of the product ensures optimum chemical dosage, which improves treatment performance, while reducing polymer consumption.
A Streaming Potential System consists of a Streaming Potential Transmitter, which measures the electrical charges and their intensity in the water sample, and a Streaming Potential Detector, which receives the streaming potential signal from the transmitter and converts it into industrial standard output signals. An optional Streaming Potential Polytroller keeps polymer dosage at the optimum level, automating the industrial treatment process.
