New Emulsion Stability Meter

advanced-es-meter

We are excited to announce a brand new product, the Advanced Emulsion Stability Meter. The Electrical Stability (ES) of an oil-based drilling fluid is directly related to its emulsion stability and oil wetting ability. Emulsion Stability Meters determine the ES by applying a precision voltage-ramped sinusoidal signal across a pair of parallel flat plate electrodes. The resulting current remains low until a threshold voltage (61 ± 5 µA) is reached. Thenthe current rises very rapidly. The point at which the fluid becomes conductive is the peak volts measured when current reaches the 61 µA point.

The Advanced Emulsion Stability Meter combines the reliable technology of the Standard ES Meter with a set of advanced features that enable you to go beyond standard testing. It can accept power from an AC source, a DC source, 9 volt batteries (4), or a computer USB port. The PC software stored on the meter provides advanced control and reporting capabilities. And the probe connection has been improved to prevent test fluid from damaging the internal components. Also, a thermocouple (included) records and displays the fluid temperature.
