Testing the filtration properties of lost circulation material (LCM) is challenging because of the unusually large particle sizes. A traditional filter press cell with a valve stem and back pressure receiver has multiple pathways that are just too small for most LCM particles. If any of these points clog, the results will not reflect the true filtration properties of the fluid.

The Free Flow LCM Receiver improves on the traditional setup. Instead of a cell cap, valve stem, and other fittings, the Free Flow LCM Receiver is wide open downstream of the filter disk. Any fluid or particles that make it through the filter disk go into the Receiver to be measured and inspected.
