The Piston Kit includes all the components and tools necessary to add a piston to an HTHP or HPHT filter press cell assembly. The piston separates the test fluid from the hydraulic fluid to prevent contamination. It also allows testing at higher pressures than are typically possible with Nitrogen tanks or CO2 bulbs. The piston is also necessary for filtering up, as in a permeability plugging test.
